February 23, 1986, early in the afternoon: Minister Enrile and General Ramos decided to consolidate forces and to work in the same place, Camp Crame. to do this, Minister Enrile needed to cross the street, which was then jammed with thousands of citizens. The people first knew of the decision when they saw reformist troops moving out of Camp Aguinaldo in formation. They asked the people to make way and they did . Linking arms, the people create a protective wall for the reformist troops.
