Ateneo Celadon’s seven departments are Communication (COMM), Corporate Relations (CORREL), Cultural Affairs (CUL), Documentations and Publications (DOCPUB), External Affairs (EXT), Financial Affairs (FIN), and Human Resources (HR). Answer these three questions and see which department your choice Pokémon, superpower, and fictional character suggests!
Q1: Which Pokémon will you take with you on your next adventure?
A. Eevee
Eevee’s irregular genetic makeup allows it to adapt to different environments, and it will eventually evolve to better suit its surroundings. Being an Eevee trainer is all about carefully cultivating your Eevee’s unique traits as it grows and eventually evolves into the form it is meant to take. Likewise, HR’s projects are all about helping members discover the department meant for them, and helping them find their calling in the organization.
B. Smeargle
Smeargle is an artist pokémon. It creates unique designs and symbols using its paintbrush tail. Do you know the saying ‘Birds of the same feather flock together’? You belong with other artists like you. Smeargle’s signature move is “sketch”, something you can do together in COMM.
C. Teddiursa
Teddiursa has moves like “play nice” and “charm”. It is a great idea to bring this pokémon on CORREL adventures, so it can help you convince companies and get those sponsorships! You can learn a thing or two from Teddiursa to make the perfect marketing pitch.
D. Hitmonlee
CUL promotes appreciation of Chinese-Filipino culture. You can count on this fighting-type pokémon to help you crush/challenge those stereotypes. Hitmonlee’s stretchy legs allow it to hit from a distance. Together, you two can kick down cultural barriers one at a time!
E. Meowth
Meowth is attracted to shiny coins that glitter with light. It can produce coins by using “Pay Day”, a valuable ability which can be utilized by FIN. It walks around the city at night, picking up anything that sparkles. This includes the loose change on the streets. In its own little way, Meowth can help you in your fundraising projects for Celadon. Since Meowth is experienced with money, you can count on it to help you with financial matters.
F. Plusle and Minun
Plusle and Minun are great support pokémon who would fit right into DOCPUB. They are not usually the main attackers on their teams, but they cheer to make their team stronger. Although DOCPUB is not a cheering squad (but we can be!), we work behind the scenes to provide support to the other departments. Plusle and Minun are better support when they work together, just as DOCPUB is at its best when writers, photographers, and videographers work together.
G. Sylveon
Sylveon is a charismatic pokémon that can easily charm other pokémon it comes in contact with. It has a soothing aura that can make those around it feel at ease. With Sylveon by your side, it can assist you in EXT by helping you create and maintain positive relationships with representatives of other organizations. Plus, it looks really fabulous.

Superpowers would make a lot of tasks easier, wouldn’t it? Check out which department your choice superpower would help the most.
A. The Golden Touch, grants the user the ability to turn anything he touches to gold even himself. In FIN, being the cash cow of the organization, this is the superpower we all aspire to have. We bring the money to the table and support the organization’s projects. Isn’t it wonderful to see your world in the color yellow? Plus, if we ever run out of money, we can just…MAKE MORE.
B. Time travel is the ability to travel to the future or to the past. In CUL, their efforts are culturally-rooted, meaning they constantly go back to the past and study the traditions and ways our ancestors used to have. Being able to time travel would allow you to LITERALLY go back to the past and observe our ancestors. You will see firsthand how they practiced the different cultures and traditions we respect today.
C. Self-replication or more popularly coined as Shadow Clone Jutsu allows one to create multiple copies of oneself. You may have wished that you could be in multiple places at once right at some points? Well in DOCPUB, we wish that all the time. This is particularly useful to DOCPUB personnel for when we cover Celadon’s projects. Why wouldn’t photographers, videographers, or journalists want to cover more angles and happenings?
D. Telepathy is the power to read other people’s minds. HR can utilize this power to easily identify the needs of the members and better understand their problems. This will allow HR to address issues as well as situations faster and more effectively.
E. Charmspeaking grants its master the ability to make any being — man, woman, or beast — bow and obey to its will. Blessed with the sweetest lips in the world, imagine the infinite possibilities with sponsors, logistics cores, parents, crushie, — and the most hard-to-get of all, OSA! Never again will you have to ligaw. They will now have to ligaw you! Wow, what a concept! This ability will definitely make CORREL’s life a lot easier.
F. Teleportation is the ability to travel between from one place to another instantly. In EXT, not only do they try to build connections, but more importantly, they build relations that will allow Celadon to to take part in its advocacy of sharing culture. With the ability to teleport, EXT will be able to easily attend the different events held by partner organizations. You will be able to avoid the hassle of traffic, have the luxury of time to visit different places and events, as well as discover different Chinese cultures not limited to the Filipino-Chinese community.
G. Visual manipulation allows one to change what a person can see, granting him or her the power to make people see things in a different light, and to change their perceptions. COMM strives to make every promotion visually appealing and relevant to the members, making this superpower extremely useful in helping the department reach its goal.

Q3: Which fictional character would you want to be your friend?
A.“ ….the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” – King T’Challa
As the official liaisons of Celadon, members of EXT are always building bridges with different organizations. Like King T’Challa or “The Black Panther” who opened Wakanda to the rest of the world, EXT members are the ones that connect Celadon to others by sharing their knowledge and resources with them. By establishing meaningful relationships, they are able to share the Chinese-Filipino culture experience while empowering others towards a better standard of living.
B. “I need a little fabulous, is that so wrong?” – Sharpay Evans
From explosive performances to having pink everything, Sharpay constantly bops her way to the top while staying fabulous and on point. She is the best in attracting others’ attention, and this is why she is the perfect friend of a member of COMM. In COMM, we try to give the best image of Celadon, attracting people’s attention to the projects and making sure that everything, from online promotions to events design, is nothing short of fabulous.
C. “I just took a nap right now, while you were talking.” – Jessica Huang
Like Jessica, people in FIN are always on the top of their game, being able to multitask a lot of things at the same time. Through her resourcefulness and determination, Jessica raised her family from rags to riches. People in FIN share the same values as her: being thrifty and hardworking. Also, like Jessica who takes care of her family, FIN loves and cares for our members deeply as well. However, do expect some tough love.
D. “Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green, I wear suits, and I’m awesome. I’m your bro—I’m Broda!” – Barney Stinson
From an abandoned child and ex-hippie to the suave talker and author of the Bro-Code, Barney Stinson’s journey is similar to the typical shy CorRel newb. Far from his past, the Stinson now upholds the traits of a CorRel god: awesome, ambitious (a sponsor every night), resourceful, persistent (sometimes too persistent), smooth, witty (sometimes to the extreme levels of sabao & sabog), and best of all, loyal to his bros. He never fails to look after Ted & Marshall while maintaining a light mood — just like how the family in CorRel always help each other get ready for their projects, x-deal pick-ups, and even personal lives. In CORREL, anyone can be legendary; they just need to — wait for it — suit up!
E. “You ain’t never had friend like me!” – Genie
Genie is one who makes an effort to get to know you and become your friend. He wants to help you feel at ease around him whether it is through his jolly demeanor or his sensitive side. Like Genie, people in HR will be there for you, even if you don’t explicitly ask. We take the initiative to support and guide you as you explore your potential in Celadon. Most of all, we forge strong relationships — like Genie and Aladdin’s lifelong friendship.
F. “Maybe what I really wanted was to prove that I could do things right. So that when I looked in the mirror, I’d see someone worthwhile.” – Mulan
As cliché as it may sound, members of CUL are a lot like Mulan. She is a woman who values her family’s traditions, but is not afraid of trying new and unconventional things. She succeeded in changing people’s perspectives on what she is capable of doing. In sharing our Chinese-Filipino traditions, CUL also looks for new and unconventional ways of doing it. This is so others may gain more perspective and foster a newfound appreciation for our culture.
G. “How’s your thirst for adventure, Captain?” – Tintin
With sharp reflexes and an even sharper wit, Tintin is the journalist extraordinaire always looking for an adventure. Aside from having a knack for his job, Tintin is also warm, welcoming, honest, kind, and good-natured, just like how all members of the DOCPUBMILYA are. (Also, while Tintin has a dog, we have a panda named Jerry. He can even take pictures of our adventures.)
There is a place for everyone in Celadon. A department is simply a home within a home. With our seven departments, surely you will be able to find the right one for you. Do not be afraid to step up and give back to the organization we all love, through the department wherein you can serve best. Manager applications are ongoing and the Executive Board is very excited for the next generation of Celadon leaders stepping up to the plate. Are you ready to be one of them?
